PowderGalv® is a new anti-corrosion coating designed exclusively for the fire protection sprinkler industry.

Working with DuPont Coating Solutions, we have developed PowderGalv® as an alternative to galvanising for systems where atmospheric corrosion is apparent.

PowderGalv® is a product based on DuPont’s thermosetting powder coatings which have been in service for over 50 years around the world. PowderGalv® is suitable for use in extreme and harsh conditions ranging from the Arctic cold of Alaska (-30°C) to the desert heat of the Middle East (60°C) and even subterranean temperatures in excess of 100°C.

PowderGalv® has been developed and extensively tested to give shot-blasted steel pipe exceptional protection from chemical and physical attack. While curing, its excellent flow characteristics allow it to flow easily into the contours of shot blasted surfaces, giving the pipe work superior corrosion resistance.

All our pipe work is shot blasted to SA 2.5 and powder coated within 15minutes of this process. This timescale has been proven to be critical to the longevity of its field performance as it ensures a complete bonding of the PowderGalv® to the pipe during the curing process, a bonding which results in outstanding mechanical and physical properties.

To the best of our knowledge, this process is unique to ASLR Fabrication Services.

PowderGalv® provides a tough and long lasting coating from manufacture to delivery to installation ensuring that pipework gives years of reliable service. Please click here for our technical data sheet.
